Swiss based insurance provider is looking to recruit a Chief Risk Officer to head its cross division risk team.
Based in Zurich the Chief Risk Officer heads a small team of two direct reports and focuses upon providing a risk management service reporting to the CFO and leadership of business valuation services in accordance to both external and internal directives.
The Chief Risk Officer enables the company to identify measure and monitor financial, insurance and operational risks (other than specific legal & compliance risks).
This is a well paid Swiss job in which you will support the execution of global functional leadership across the all the companies life insurance business units.
It will be your responsibility to maintain and further develop the risk framework, organization and personal responsibilities of your team. You will identify key risks, draft and maintain all the risk management policies.
Your department will undertake all Risk analysis, assessment, monitoring and reporting. As Chief Risk Officer you will represent the Life Insurance business at respective risk committees.
In this offshore insurance job you will also have a remit over Financial & Insurance Risk Management & Valuation.
You can expect to be responsible for the regular Market Consistent Embedded Value and Value of New Business reporting. It is expected you will perform ex-post product profitability analysis and reporting.
Any special valuation tasks (e.g. goodwill impairment testing) will also fall in to your area.
Lastly you will monitor and control risks related to the management of client assets by external asset managers and provide management and financial reporting for client deposits.
To be considered for the Chief Risk Officer position you will need to hold a Masters degree in mathematics, physics, econometrics or similar numeric discipline and have a minimum of five years experience in related risk management / valuation risk.
It is expected that experience will have been in the financial services industry (preferably in non-traditional life insurance). You will have an affinity towards IT (MS-Office, especially Excel, portfolio projection and database software) and have excellent German and English (spoken and written).
