VP of Compliance – Jersey Job – Offshore Banking

With its Channel Islands banking and wealth management based out of St Helier, this diverse international financial services provider in the world, is looking to add an experienced Head of Compliance to its ranks.

Titled Vice President of Compliance you will work with in the Offshore Group – covering Jersey, Guernsey and the Cayman Islands in the Legal, Risk and Capital Department – for the banks Private Wealth Management, Fiduciary and Corporate Services businesses.

This Jersey job involves providing primary Compliance coverage for the Bank’s divisions in Jersey and Guernsey. In this offshore banking compliance job you will develop and execute the Compliance program and support maintenance of compliance with local laws and regulations as well as the global, regional and local policies. Essentially your mission will be to protect the interests of clients and the integrity and reputation of bank.

As Vice President of Compliance your key responsibilities will be to assess strengths and weaknesses of the current compliance program, and develop proposals to change and enhancement it.

You will advise Management on compliance and regulatory risk issues and write or revise relevant governing policies and procedures. In this well paid Jersey banking job you will execute the compliance surveillance & monitoring program. It is expected you will liaise with regulators in each jurisdiction as appropriate and ensure that Group Reporting deadlines are met.

You will also perform Compliance review and approval of new investment products, documentation and advice on regulatory developments and initiatives. You will participate in and contribute to global and regional Compliance Practice Teams and other projects. Finally you will have a co-ordinating role for our Mauritius compliance function as well.

For consideration for the Vice President of Compliance vacancy you will have at least five years proven experience involving compliance and regulatory risk matters in financial services.

It is expected you will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of either funds or wealth management business (or both), experience or understanding of trusts / trustees. You will have proven leadership and management ability, a strong level of self-motivation and an ability to work in a stand-alone capacity as well as part of a wider global team.

Lastly you will fluent in English (German, French and other languages are useful).
