This Swiss bank and global wealth management house is looking to strengthen their Global & Country Risk team by recruiting an Economist.
The banks firm-wide Risk Control and Methodology function, which supports the Group Chief Risk Officer and oversees the bank's group-wide risk profile, is an increasingly important business function.
The Global & Country Risk team are responsible for identifying and assessing key economic, financial and political risks on a global and individual country level, and for developing stress scenarios for the bank's combined stress tests.
It is within this team, based in Zurich, that the requirement for an additional Economist has emerged – in line with the banks business model.
As an economist you will contribute to the identification of key global risk trends and the development of consistent and plausible macroeconomic stress scenarios, including the estimation of key economic and financial variables.
In addition, in this well paid Swiss job, you will take over responsibility for a portfolio of emerging market countries and as such be in charge of analysing and monitoring the risk-relevant economic, financial and political developments in these markets, for which your assessments will form the basis for the internal credit ratings and the formulation of banks respective business policies.
As Economist you will closely interact with the stress testing team, as well as risk control and economic research units at the Investment Bank.
The successful applicant for the Economist vacancy will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Masters Degree or PhD in Economics
- Solid knowledge in applied quantitative analysis and statistics
- Strong analytical skills, pragmatism and firm judgement
- Fluency in English, both in oral and written form
- Strong written, communication and interpersonal skills
- Co-operative, team-player and self-reliant
